Lights, Camera, ACTION! Work together in groups to develop, storyboard and shoot a short film. Then take it home to share with friends and family.

It’s fun, hands-on filmmaking for all to enjoy. We will be involved in creative writing, creating scripts, storyboards, characters and how to show our story through a camera lens.

We will be filming and editing with our own devices if you are able to bring one. (Apple preferred)
It’s an excellent opportunity to show our talents behind and in front of the camera.

course info

Please read all course information below before purchasing tickets for this event.

  • This course is perfect for young people with a passion for stories and hobbies that they want to share with the world!

They'll go from being a digital consumer to a digital creator, learning how to capture their inner world of stories and imagination, as well as the stories of the world around them.

Participants will be immersed in the entire film production process, from screenwriting and storyboarding to shooting, editing and post-production.

Also a note on editing - all editing we do is on our own devices, please ensure you have access to IMovie if you are bringing a device in. All special effects should be considered practical, as we don't have a long enough week to delve into digital SFX effects.

  • Please bring the following on your first day of class:

    • Drawing materials (pens, pencils)

    • USB

    • Apple devices (if already own one, like a IPad or Phone) to use for filming

The tutor will supply USB's for a cost of $4 each for the last day of class, so students can take home a copy of their film and the classes if they choose to.

  • No experience required.
